​Visit stand C08 for Van Werven Plastic Recycling

The PRS brings the most important players in the recycling sector in contact with each other and wants to generate more attention for plastic recycling. Van Werven is present both days and the employees would love to meet you at stand C08 to tell more about our recycling process. But also, for example, to tell more about our new grinding line in Selby, England.
 

High quality grinded materials

Our converting process consists of seven stages, designed to achieve the maximum purity. First we sort by hand,
then we remove ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the materials, like iron, aluminium, copper, stainless steel and so on. We sort PE, PP and PS using infrared equipment and float/sink processes. The result is that our fractions have 95% + purity which enables our customers to manufacture high-end products, such as car dashboards and pipelines, which can be recycled over and over again.
 

Update plant Selby

In February 2017 we began grinding materials at our Selby plant and are now producing several grades of Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE).  This accounts for 50% of the incoming rigid plastic waste to Selby and provides a huge boost for our contribution to the circular economy, as much of the incoming waste comes from local waste suppliers and council authorities who are committed to increase their recycling rates.  Whereas previously all sorted materials were transported to The Netherlands for processing, the fact that we have reduced this by 50% means we are saving on transport and helping to reduce our carbon footprint.  Van Werven now produces high quality grinded materials in England which can provide an alternative to virgin raw materials as they are comparable in quality and consistency, are competitively priced, making a significant contribution to the circular economy and improving the CO2 balance.
